Summary

For my Senior Project which was racing in the International Submarine Race, we had to design, model, draft, and manufacture a working human powered submarine to compete against other high schools and colleges at ISR 15. After coming up with our design, we split up into different groups working on different parts of the sub. I initially designed and helped manufacture the hull for our sub, but later also machined various parts for the gearbox that propelled our submarine. I worked with tolerances of thousandths of an inch with some of the pieces I was making. For our project we were machining with one Bridgeport machine along with the 2 H.A.A.S. machines that we had. Also having access to many different manual machines and other tools. Our project took an entire school year to complete where we later participated in ISR 15.
