Reporting to Energizer’s Chief Compliance Officer, was responsible for helping ensure that Energizer’s corporate compliance program was well designed, effective and in accordance with DOJ guidance.

Responsible for updating the corporate “Code-of-Conduct” and delivering global training to 6,500 colleagues in 14 different languages.

Managed Energizer’s global battery and packaging recycling efforts to ensure compliance with extended producer responsibility legislation and directives. Worked with industry associations to help draft model legislation for more favorable US based bills.

Worked with trade associations and industry groups to help coordinate efforts to prevent lethal coin cell ingestions through added warning copy, improved battery design, and child resistant packaging. Leveraged similar relationships to help stem the proliferation of state laws mandating smoke alarms with 10-year sealed batteries due to concerns about battery reliability and public safety. Responsible for managing multiple R&D projects with various Government Agencies (Secret Clearance)

Identified opportunities that were aligned with the company’s technology roadmap and developed effective whitepapers and winning proposals in response to Broad Agency Announcements and solicitations.

Successfully pursued multi-million-dollar R&D funding requests with the Executive Branch and members of Congress. Effectively managed resulting R&D contracts to improve the low rate, high temperature reliability and capacity of Energizer primary lithium AA and AAA batteries, meeting time, cost and performance metrics.

Directed the successful efforts to design and develop a high-rate zinc-air prismatic battery for the military that was approximately 50% lighter and took up less volume than the incumbent battery system.

Project Manager for multiple cross-functional teams that realized $5.6 million in annualized savings

Used Lean, 5S, Stage Gate, DoE and Design for Six Sigma principles and methodologies to reduce product development costs.

Helped lead multi-disciplined teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, QA, Materials Engineering, Planning, Procurement) in the production of nuclear-components and pressure vessels and facilitated the resolution of both technical and administrative issues, ensuring 100% compliance with contractual requirements.

Completed a comprehensive 18-month Qualification Program that combined extensive classroom training, shipboard training, NAVSEA administered written examinations, and oral board examination.

Supervisor, was responsible for overseeing the safe testing and operation of a nuclear power plant and all of its supporting systems and components, both mechanical and electrical on board a U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine.

Directed a team of shipyard test technicians and U.S. Navy personnel in conducting various, complex testing procedures; was responsible for ensuring that all operations were performed safely and in strict accordance to written procedures.

Conducted daily briefings on testing procedures for the Navy (Ship’s Force) assisted in the preparation of test documents, reviewed and evaluated test data.

Performed and checked various calculations (flow balance, failure mode analysis, etc.) in support of the development of a more economically viable U.S. Navy Submarine Nuclear Propulsion Plant.
