SUMMARY

I am a Civil and Structural Engineer with 16 years of international experience in heavy and complex industrial structure design for power projects and oil & gas industry. I am an experienced analyst and competent in steel and concrete structures for thermal, Gas based, combined cycle power plants and refinery structures. I am qualified project management professional certified by IPMA and trained in PMBOK principles of project management.

After working as Lead Engineer/Manager-Power plant engineering division for 10 years at L&T-Sargent and Lundy limited and 6 years at WorleyParsons Canada in Oil & Gas. I worked in pipeline business with Stantec Consulting Ltd. as a Lead Civil/Structural engineer for last two years. I have experience of working in design office, operating plants and at construction sites.

Lead Structural Engineer on Pembina pipeline projects. Working on five different pipeline terminal projects to be executed in Grand Prairie, Alberta. I was responsible for design of piperacks, pipebridges and Main line pump foundations, structure and foundations. I was responsible for co-ordination with other disciplines, 3D model review with client, drawings and calculation reviews site queries, review of fabrication drawings preparing Material requisitions (MRs) and providing information to the vendors.

2013 – 2018

Lead Civil/Structural Engineer, WorleyParsons, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Shell Canada, Scotford refinery, Fort Saskatchewan and Shell Albian Sands, Fort McMurry, Alberta:

Lead Civil and Structural Engineer responsible for leading multiple projects and teams apart from analysis and design and review of complex steel and concrete structures using provincial and national codes of Canada such as CSA A23.3, CSA S16, W59, NBC, Indian and American codes and standards such as ACI 318, AISC and ASCE-7. I am responsible projects from conception (select and define phases), cost estimation and control to execution (TIC $1M to $100M), technical bid evaluation and construction support and co-ordination, project schedule and budget management. I was responsible for engineering improvements such as design spreadsheets and software trainings to minimize engineering efforts and maximize the efficiency. I can effectively use sketching and effectively electronic models for design development. I am focal point for refinery and upgrader turnarounds and constructability review meetings where engineer is tested for his technical knowledge and decision making.

I was seconded at client’s office for few years. Apart from executing the projects from the home office and low cost off-shore offices worldwide, I was responsible for developing business relationship with clients. This helped us to get more projects from clients, competing with other engineering contractors, which kept the manpower at home office steady in economic downturn. 2003 – 2013

Manager- Civil and Structural Engineering, L&T-Sargent and Lundy ltd, India.

I was Lead Civil/Structural engineer working on capital intensive jobs. I was managing team of 25 engineers in project peak period. I was looking after project management activities to help out project engineers, facilitating effective flow of communication between Engineering Office, Client Office, Site, Vendor, and Fabricator. Provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications as per project schedule and budgeted man-hours.
