Development Program History
2013-2018 Spark/Dilution, Cam Phasing, knock detection & control calibration for all V8 performance car naturally aspirated and supercharged applications. Including OBD calibration, verification, federal & export diagnostic emission compliance. Also aftermarket high octane calibrations.
2010-2013 Spark/Dilution, Cam Phasing, knock detection & control calibration for V8 full size light duty truck/suv. Including OBD calibration, verification, and federal diagnostic emission compliance.
2006-2010 Spark/Dilution, Cam Phasing, knock control, and off idle catalyst diagnostic calibration for V8 full size strong hybrid truck. Including OBD calibration, verification, federal & export diagnostic emission compliance. Developed and implemented algorithm and cal changes for 2010 model year delivering +10% city and +15% hwy fuel economy improvements. First corporate application of off idle converter diagnostic. Calibration and software development for initial use of advancing cam phaser application.
2002-2006 Idle/Rpm control calibration for all full size light duty truck applications & V8 mid-size SUV.
Torque management for V8 medium duty truck.
1999-2002 Idle/Rpm control calibration for inline 4 & 5 cylinder light duty midsize truck/suv and inline 6 cylinder inline midsize suv.
1995-1999 Calibration Development & Validation Engineer, 60 deg V6 engines. Responsible for dynamometer and vehicle calibration. Also responsible for calibration/hardware design and development of "run without coolant" feature for several engine types and hardware design and calibration of exhaust A.I.R system. Validation responsibilities included engine and component validation including vehicle and dynamometer durability testing. Post test analysis, interfacing with design engineers, and component/system test planning and reporting.
1989-1994 Calibration Development Engineer and Lead Calibration Release Engineer – 90 Deg. V6 supercharged full size car. Responsible for dynamometer and vehicle calibration including hardware development, primarily EGR, spark advance, and open loop fueling requirements. Release of in-use, service, and initial model year launch calibrations.
