Going on almost 26 years have operated in the STEM industry primarily as a Medical Technician and Medical Technologist. Currently employed at Louis Stokes Veteran Affairs Medical Center PALMS in the Chemistry Department (See Below).

Canton Mercy Medical Center located across from Football Hall of Fame in Canton Ohio is a 476 bed facility with trauma ER, cardiac, maternity, LTAC, and servicing outpatient health centers aka statcares the following counties in Alliance, Carroll County, Jackson Township, Lake Township, Louisville, Massillon, North Canton, Plain Township and Tuscarawas County. Core Laboratory Medical Technologist

Mid-day to Evening Medical Technologist I dedicate being a healthcare professional within in laboratory

by having the ideology of every patient is a family member. Treat everyone as you would an extended loved one. At the time working as a Medical Technologist in Canton Mercy Medical Center I would conduct specimen processing of samples from various demographics inpatient, outpatient draw station and batches from the outpatient health centers varying from infant to geriatric. Maintain confidentiality on all test results along with highly sensitive testing (HIV, Rapid HIV, Drugs of Abuse on infants and mothers, and etc). Prepare samples for shipment to Cleveland Clinic, LabCorp, Quest, etc. Utilized LIS Meditech to data mine historical information on returning or readmitting patients and trauma patients. Example the few sickle cell trait heterozygous and sickle cell disease homozygous carriers to check LIS for reason of coming into ED or chief complaint if previous history is mentioned by ED physician will set the tone of what might be seen in peripheral blood smear. Monitor because laboratory is not set up for Heparin Assay testing (Xa) to track trends of RN or Phlebotomy draw for APTT is within 4 hours after Heparin dosing to speak with administering RN to explain that sample is drawn not below IV and IV was not on at time of drawn more than likely high dosing Heparin. Able to extract data to develop a concept of recalling theory to communicate to various clinicians within the facility. Call /paged critical results to outpatient physicians or on-call physicians when outpatient’s results are critical for inpatient critical results speak with a clinician. Conduct quality control and calibration on Urinalysis, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Manual Hematology, Manual Chemistry, and Immunology analyzers.

Dependable only called off one day at Mercy while working part-time at UH Bedford for 10 months.
