QUALIFICATIONS

Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Association of Ontario Certified

Exceptional abilities with blood draws (Phlebotomy)

Knowledgeable on triage, vital signs, ECG and POCT Devices

Experienced in WHIMIS and TDG

Collect and process specimen according to the protocol of the laboratory using manual (Haemocytometer) and automated methods on different body fluids

Knowledge in calibration, quality control and basic trouble shooting of laboratory machines such as:

oUniCel DxH 800 (Hematology), UniCel DxCi and Vitros 250 (Chemistry), Architect plus and Elecsys (Chemistry/ Serology), ACL 7000 (Coagulation studies), and Vitek 2 Compact (Bacteriology)

Works well under pressure and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing time sensitive tasks

Expert on Medical Terminology

Very well trained in performing First Aid and CPR

Perform Blood Bank Tests such as manual Blood typing and Cross matching, including collection of blood from voluntary donors and its screening test.

Assisting pathologists in gross examination of specimens and tissue processing

Accurate, reliable, diligent, and focused with timely completion of laboratory results or procedures

Ability to perform clerical and support services as needed, such as answering telephone calls, calling STATS, booking an appointment, explaining different medical procedures

Good written and oral communication skills in both Filipino and English

Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, LIS/HIS System)
