Solar Energy Driven Three Phase AC Motor Drive Using Push Pull Converter
This project proposes a topology of induction motor drive system integrating a push- pull converter and a three-phase inverter using a solar photovoltaic panel. To match impedance between the solar panel and the motor load and to step-up the panel voltage, a dc-dc push-pull topology is employed. To obtain optimum motor performance and to reduce total harmonic distortion of the inverter output waveform, a sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) technique for switching of inverter power circuit is employed Furthermore, a closed-loop motor speed controller is implemented, in order to regulate the motor speed to the desired set point. Maximum power point tracking algorithm (perturb & observe) is used to extract maximum power from photovoltaic panel. Finally the simulation results are discussed and analyzed in order to verify the effectiveness of this project design. Software Used: PSIM & MATLAB.
