Macy's, Inc., -- Marketing Chicago, IL June 2009 – February 2020 Senior Manager, Special Events, April 2013 – February 2020 Moved into a senior level leadership role, directly hiring, training, and managing 4 event producers, each focused regionally throughout the Midwest to cumulatively produce and execute over 60 fashion, home, culinary, cause and children’s events annually.
• Served as an integral part of an innovate team with new event ideas to stay relevant in the market with our customers and competitors. This included sourcing/negotiating and contracting influencers and celebrity hosts for added advertising opportunities.
• Worked cross-functionally with key stakeholders including store management, buying & planning, merchandising, visual and operations teams in the development of effective in-store promotions to promote the brand.
• Strategized seasonal event plans & budgets for North Central region; focused on event initiatives to support larger marketing campaigns for the Macy’s brand. This included identifying best store locations based on sales reporting, conceptualizing event experience and allocating budgets.
• Negotiated, secured and managed relationships with key marketing partners and sponsors, which translated into event opportunities; identified outside sponsors for Macy's special events to offset departmental expenses.
• Evaluated Macy's event marketing initiatives from both quantitative and qualitative standpoints. • Continued to produce two charity galas with 1300+ attendees per event annually.
