OneWeb Satellites (Contracted) - Merritt Island, FL December 2019 to April 2020
• Inspect all equipment on spacecraft and ensure proper functionality.
• Inspect all connections to avionics components.
• Ensure there are no abnormalities with the satellite before loading into thermal chamber.
• Perform routine tests on avionics components to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Perform testing with RF on satellite during thermal cycles to simulate Day In The Life conditions.
• Ensure that RF readings are nominal throughout the thermal cycles.
• Record and report any abnormalities that occur during testing to the engineering team.
• Prepare test results for inspection/validation from engineering team.
• Implement the use of 5S and lean manufacturing to increase productivity.
• Worked closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues within the test environment.
• Worked alongside the engineering team to develop solutions for RF distribution to satellites during thermal cycles. Senior Design Project
UCF - Orlando, FL
August 2019 to April 2020
The mission of this project was to develop a quad copter to be implemented in a fleet of multi-drop vehicles. The primary function of this drone was for maritime search and rescue. This was part of a senior design project to satisfy ABET accreditation a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Developed a system that would allow the drone to fly autonomously to way-points and a final GPS designated location.
• Selected components that would best withstand conditions subjected to in a search and rescue mission.
• Developed a system to drop a flotation device with a buoyancy force to support a 200 lb person in distress.
• Used knowledge of the design process to ensure the product complies with all design requirements.
• Conducted FEA on product design with aid of CAD software.
• Conducted light weight analysis with Fusion 360 for all 3D printed components.
• Developed a system to autonomously stabilize the drone upon release from parent vehicle. MICHAEL
