Client : BNSF Railway October 2016 – July 2019

Release Train Engineer

• Was the Agile Coach/Release Train Engineer for the client, BNSF Railway for their Customer Program Agile Release Train

• Supported the expansion of Customer Program Agile Release train which originally had 4 teams to the 11 teams it supports currently as their RTE.

• Facilitated all the Program level events like Program Increment Planning (PIP), Scrum of Scrums (SoS), PO Sync, Inspect and Adapt Workshops (I&A) for over 2.5 years and helped the ART evolve to successfully support the biweekly release cadence on Demand.

• Made available Big Visible Information Radiators of our teams’ progress towards the commitments and also our reliability metrics for building Stakeholder Engagement and Confidence

• As a SAFe Program Consultant, supported my client BNSF Railway with their Scaled Agile Framework Implementation for their other release trains as well helped launch the EHS

(Environment Health and Safety) Agile Release Train.

• Depending on the Agile Maturity of the team, provided Kanban/ SAFe Role based training as part of the SAFe Implementation Roadmap and organized the User Story Workshops, Product Owner Summits, Kanban Pizza Games, Scrum Workshops etc.,

• Planned and managed Budgeting along with communication of the Program’s progress and impediments.

• Helped in the facilitation of prioritizing the Program Feature Backlog based on the Cost of Delay.

• Facilitated the Celebration Demos (our Inspect and Adapt workshop) and the Innovation- Planning Sprint Team Building Activities including Trackathons to keep the teams motivated and planning ahead.

SAFe Consultant and Trainer (part-time)

• Helped launch the very first Agile Release Train at Neiman Marcus Group and successfully helped the adoption of Agile and transition from their traditional Project Management to SAFe which included training the leaders and teams on SAFe.

• Facilitated the first PI Planning for Neiman Marcus and am coached them subsequently in their PI execution at the moment.

• Taught Leading SAFe at AT&T for their Compliance division and consulted with their SAFe adoption.

• I have taught over 24 SAFe courses classes with The I4 Group as a Trainer including the SAFe Scrum Master(SSM)/Advanced Scrum Master(SASM), SAFe Product Owner-Product manager (POPM), Leading SAFe(SA) and was also the co-trainer for one SAFe Program Consultant(SPC 4.6) course

Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager /Enterprise Change Management Team Member

• Scrum Master for the team Client Portal which aimed at integrating the Former Dex One and Supermedia into an integrated and consolidated Client Portal.

• Was the RTE proxy at the DFW location and facilitated their Big Room Planning events in our Dallas Location.

• Empowered teams to self-organize and grow cross-functionally and reduce the diffusion of responsibility.

• As Part of Dex Enterprise Change Management(ECM) Team, helped the organization in standardizing our Value Stream delivery process and metrics.

• As part of the ECM team, helped Coach the adoption of Kanban for their Order to Cash(O2C) team and facilitated their Kaizen process.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Scrum/Kanban Master for the project IRC/IRO which aimed at providing a one-stop solution for their Integrated Reservoir Characterization and EHS – Environment Health and Safety Projects at Devon Energy.

• Facilitated scrum ceremonies and coached the team to be true to the Agile Values.

• Protected the team from over-commitment, managed backlogs, prioritized resolution of defects/bugs.

• Acted as an Agile Coach as the organization was in transition from traditional waterfall into being Agile.
