Graduate Research Assistant: Missouri University of Science and Technology Sep 2017 - Present

• Studied effect of filtration and inclusion analysis on low density high toughness FeMnAl steel with applications in automotive sectors and military.

• Analyzed quantitatively the presence of bifilms, AlN and other major inclusions using SEM-EDS

• Understanding bifilm behavior and failure in aluminum castings

• Determined the toughness of the Charpy samples in as-cast, solution treated and age hardened conditions and performed SEM fractography to understand the nature of the damaged surface and impact of inclusions in crack propagation

• Designed different gating systems using Magmasoft to understand the effect of reoxidation of inclusions.

• Performed microscopy, inclusion and analysis and mechanical testing to analyze quality of the casting

• Responsible for foundry purchase orders, inventory and equipment maintenance 2

Graduate Teaching Assistant: Metal Casting Laboratory Aug – Dec 2018

• Instructed undergraduate students in the foundry and conducted heats pertaining to ductile iron, grey iron and steel – processing and characterization

• Responsible for tensile and microstructure sample preparation

• Aided in the final design project involving the usage of Magmasoft Project Intern: Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India Oct 2016 – May 2017

• Worked as a research intern and performed the senior year project titled - Tribological Study of Stainless Steel

(SS316) and Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for improving the life of artificial knee joints

• Designed experiments to create various surface patterns – radial, circular and random, and verification of the patterns using optical 3D profilometer

• Created cylindrical pins made of UHMWPE pins and performed pin on disk tests for the circular pattern and the accumulation and analysis of the worn-out debris.

• Analyzed the coefficient of friction, wear rate, and particle size from the tests performed. Intern: Tractor and Farm Equipments Limited (TAFE), Doddaballapur, India Jan – Feb 2015

• Studied the different cells involved in the assembly of a tractor

• Understanding the workflow process in the plant

• Performed a time study involved in the assembly of components and their rate PUBLICATIONS and CONFERENCES
