Research Experience
Research Trainee. Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida (2017) (Research Mentor: Sidney Bolden, PhD)
My research project was on “Alzheimer’s Disease Metabolomics and Heath Disparities Among Ethnic Groups”. My role involved identifying the functional and structural components of Alzheimer’s Disease, and using NMR Metabolomics to investigate the structure of the brain.
Research Trainee. Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida (2017) (Research Mentor: Sidney Bolden, PhD)
My research project was on “Snap Freezing on Plant Samples” My role involved snap freezing different plant samples with acetone to extract the metabolites from the samples using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
Research Trainee. Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida (2019) (Research Mentor: Sidney Bolden, PhD)
My research project was on “Fragile X syndrome and its relation to the Amyloid Precursor Protein”. My role involved identifying the effect that the protein had on people with Fragile X syndrome and possible drugs that could suppress the syndrome.
Research Trainee. Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida (2019) (Research Mentor: Sidney Bolden, PhD)
My research project was on “Using Autodock programming for drug discovery activity”. My role involved using the program to demonstrate how mathematical modeling could be used in drug discovery. It also played a major role in understanding how to utilize docking software to be able to apply fragment growth to hit molecules.
Research Trainee: Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida (2019) (Research Mentor: Sidney Bolden, PhD)
My research project was on the “Separation of the Components of an Analgesic Tablet I: Acid-Base Extraction”. My role for this project involved separating components of various components such as Excedrin and aspirin and using Thin Layer Chromatography to evaluate the pH and separation of the components.
Research Trainee: Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida (2019)
(Research Mentor: Sidney Bolden, PhD)
My research project was on “Using Anaconda Navigator to Analyze Schrodinger PI”. My role for this project involved using a script to code for Schrodinger PI. Then, I adjusted the energy levels on each graph that was projected to examine the results that each Particle Well generated. The particle wells used were the infinite well, the finite well, the double finite well of equal depth, the double finite well of unequal depth, and the harmonic well).
