PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This primary objective of this project is to create a reporting process using ETL and Reporting tools for each quarter with respect to the insurance claims. This will allow us to better service the customers having auto policy from the insurance company. The technical stack included Python, PySpark, SQL, Crystal reporting and SAP Business objects.

ROLE DESCRIPTION :

Worked as a Senior Software Engineer and developed Various ETL solutions to load the Analytics data warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Using Big Data technologies –

Working and development of ETL/Data pipelines using PySpark & Plain vanilla Python programming language to read and process the data from various data sources such as Flat files, Text files, CSV, Parquet and Regular HDFS files, Oracle.

Development of reusable script using Korn/Bash shell scripting languages to build ETL pipelines.

Development of Outbound / Inbound ETL pipeline to extract the data from Oracle Db and export it to HDFS using Cloudera Hadoop Distribution and load data into Oracle Db from HDFS.

Doing Automation of different Use case’s such as moving data from Hive to Vertica, Vertica to Hive, CSV/Text files load to Hive or Vertica.

Created Automated Python scripts to perform daily Operational Activities such as number of jobs failed/succeeded etc.

Using Business Object’s & Crystal Reports –

10 Full life cycle implementation including Design of universe and Report Development. Life cycle focused on various functional areas such as Casualty claims, Catastrophic claims, Attorney Rate information, Medicare information, Finance, SIU (Special Investigative Unit) etc.

Worked mainly on Business Objects XI 3.3 and had a good understanding of Universe Designer and Web Intelligence and CMC as well.

Prepared Business Objects reports and queries using Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence.

Build the new universe as per the client's requirements by identifying the required tables from Data mart and by defining the universe connections.

Prepared many reports by using cross-tabs, Sub Reports and drill mode as per the requirement of the Business.

Expertise in designing Business Objects Universe based on the XI Repository and creating canned /Ad Hoc Reports using Business Objects, Web Intelligence, Info View and Crystal Reports.

Converted Crystal Reports into Web-I using the Business Objects universes.

Extensively used Business Objects reporting functionalities such as Master Detailed, Slice and Dice, Drilling methodology, Filters, Ranking, Sections, Graphs and.

Reports are made user friendly by implementing filters, conditions, calculations, cascading prompts.
