§ Memorial Hermann TIRR Engineering Internship May 2019 – January 2020

- Interned at Memorial Hermann TIRR in Houston, Texas as an Engineering Intern in the Research Department

- Designed and fabricated a shoulder range of motion rehabilitation device that can be used by stroke and muscular dystrophy patients, as well as other patients that lack ability to move shoulder over full range of motion

- Used Solidworks to create 3D models of design and Arduino code for control aspects of the device

§ Baltimore Orioles Analytics Project February 2019 – Present

- Leading a team of students that works alongside Baltimore Orioles Analytics Department and Assistant General Manager, Sig Mejdal, to create a program that analyzes pitcher data based on different data values provided by MLB Statcast

- The program clusters the different pitches that a pitcher can throw and visualizes this analysis through 2D and 3D plots using Python

- Program is used to compare the pitches of different major league and minor league pitchers to determine which player’s pitches are most effective

§ Student Research – Oracle Baseball Analysis Project August 2018 – Present

- Currently working with Dr. Anton Dahbura, JHU Associate Research Scientist, Computer Science, to create Oracle, a baseball analytics program that examines MLB Statcast data to answer highly specific game scenario questions using natural language

- Responsible for programming Oracle modules in Python that are utilized by the core program to parse statistical information and evaluate scenario outcomes

- Used this tool to develop “flashcards” that will be implemented into MLB bullpens to aid pitchers by providing real-time snapshots of facets of their own game as well as their opponent’s game

- Team lead on project that used the analytics engine to analyze how the performance of one hitter affected the outcomes of the surrounding hitters to investigate the notion of whether

“hitting is contagious”
