Business Strategy and Contract Lead, 2012 – 2019

Responsible for the full-cycle management of all operational agreements relating to Park Land owned by the City of Calgary. Coordinated agreements involving community developers, community associations, restaurant operators, and seasonal vendors to ensure streamline processes and improved operational performance. Responsible for all request for proposals (RFPs) valued in excess of $100K.

Served as first point of contact for all contractual matters in relation to Calgary Park Land.

Managed the analysis, negotiation, development, execution, and close-outs/renewal of all park contracts, some of which were:

oOptional Amenity Agreements (OAA) in coordination with community developers, CA, RA, and HOA yielding over $1M in Parks funding;

oLandscape Maintenance Agreements (LMA) for the Enhanced Landscape Maintenance program involving 30 communities and engaged three potential new communities for 2020;

oSeasonal Vendors Agreements, including vetting new applications;

oRestaurant Lease Agreements, which required sourcing, recruitment and negotiation of rent to execute 15-year lease agreements; and

oOperational Agreements, which ensured the mitigation of risk to the City of Calgary and complied with City of Calgary’s bylaws and policies.

Worked with City of Calgary Legal Department to ensure legal compliance and minimize risk to the City of Calgary.

Annually developed and implemented a comprehensive Special Tax Levy bylaw report that resulted in revenue in the amount of $1.6M annually that was reviewed and approved by City Counsellors.

Analyzed labour costs and translated data into actionable information and reported to the Senior Management Team.

Critical analysis of third-party contractors compared to union labour leading to expansion of third-party contractors for all park operations.

Coordinated and analyzed RFP’s to source all mowing, trimming, garbage pickup, splash park maintenance, and portable potties to third party contractors.
