Web Development Projects Cornell University, Ithaca, NY Back End System for Online Shopping Mall 07/2019-09/2019 Created a single-page application Online Shopping Mall Website, with Spring and MyBatis. Highlights include:

§ Created a set of Mapper.xml files under resource package to manipulate the data by SQL from local database to each module and mapped the DAO layer’s class into each specified Mapper.xml files.

§ Implemented MD5 Util method to encrypt the users’ password and add a ‘salt’ suffix to enhance the security.

§ Developed the local cache for the token message function by CacheBuilder, CacheLoader and LoadingCache. Personal Blog Website Development 05/2019-05/2019

Created a single-page application Blog Website, with Spring Boot, HTML5, CSS and Semantic UI. Highlights include:

§ Implemented Semantic UI Stackable to adjust web page size in the mobile devices; rendered the web page by adding the animation plugin and the Markdown Editor plugins.

§ Developed the Global Search function by JpaRepository and @Query annotation based on the key words.

§ Rendered the web page by adding the animation plugin for the home page and the Markdown Editor plugins.

§ Developed the components with configurable behaviors, the interaction was done by using @Controller, @Service,

Created a single-page application Projects Display Website with React, HTML, CSS(Sass), includes home page, projects page and work details pages. Highlights include:

§ Built the routers for the list of projects in the home page to be redirected to the work details page.

§ Displayed the self-introduction and a list of projects with brief description and technical tags at front page.

§ Implemented axios to handle the API requests to display the projects’ brief description and contents. Machine/Deep Learning Campus Research Cornell University, Ithaca, NY Meng Project: Real-Time Artistic Style Transfer for Deep Learning 9/2018 – 05/2019 Constructed a style transfer neural network used Vgg-19 neural network by TensorFlow to generate the stylized image. Built the loss function for content image and the style image, and the total loss function for the result image. Highlights include:

§ Developed a style prediction neural network based on Inception-V3 neural network by TensorFlow to supply a set of normalization constants to accelerate and improve the performance of the style transfer neural network.

§ Utilized OpenCV to achieve the function of real-time video artistic style transfer via camera.

§ Implemented smoothing filtering to reduce the video noises. Summer Research Volunteer: Stages of Parkinson’s Disease Detection Project 05/2017-08/2017 Utilized machine learning KNN algorithm in MATLAB to calculate the data errors between the experiment drawing points and testing points to indicate the stages of the Parkinson’s disease. Highlights include:

§ Successfully implemented the KNN algorithm by MATLAB to display the results for the testing sample.

§ Created the testing cases to test the correctness of the algorithm.
