Process Engineer ALETRRA PLASTICS (Seymour, IN, USA) July 2019 – Present

Assist in developing, configuring and optimizing various plastic compounding process operations in current and new engineering projects from inception through production.

Prepare screw design for the extruder machine setup for new production run and update & maintain the PFMEA

(Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) & ECN (Engineering Change Notice) documents with necessary changes.

Help troubleshoot R&D design & manufacturing issues by compiling best practices & innovative solutions and assessing line trials, interpreting data thus making recommendations for improvement.

Lead activities by monitoring the implementation plan for new product launch start-up and being in liaison with the suppliers, customers, the production and management team.

Created SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) documents for all the manufacturing lines in the plant including step- by-step procedures for QC (Quality Control) tests and supervised plastic injection molding testing activity.

Designed plant floor layout on AutoCAD which helped in the de-cluttering & organization of plant while implementing lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, Kanban, 5S) on the assembly line for continuous improvement, controlling inventory, installation of new equipment and VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) activities. Design Engineer Intern TF METAL AMERICAS CORPORATION (Farmington Hills, MI, USA) June 2018 – June 2019

Performed benchmarking analysis, teardown & reverse engineering to identify product design features & performance, evaluate competitive automobile seat technologies in the market & support product development.

Created RFQ (Request for Quote); SWI (Standard Work Instruction) and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) documents for testing activities & prototype builds.

Worked on software – CATIA V5 for design & development; Prepared BOM (Bill of Material); Filed ECR (Engineering Change Request) for assembly parts while updating PN (Part No) changes & engineering drawings.

Printed markups following GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), tolerance stack-ups & DVA (Dimension Variational Analysis) outputs.

Assisted manufacturing with root cause analysis (5-Why) for seat tracks latching system and provide permanent and corrective build actions by decreasing the latch plate thickness by 25% with supporting kinematic study in CAD.

Designed GO and NO GO gauges for current production targeted program to resolve the issue of high efforts.

Modeled and proposed 3 different types of latch engagement lock system for future business opportunities and presented it on MS PowerPoint with comparison of the working specialty and technicalities.

Conceptualized and designed fasteners as travel stops which is under patent processing for NPD (New Product Development); programmed a stress calculator on MS Excel to evaluate its failure analysis and prepared DFMEA

(Design Failure mode Effect Analysis) for the same.

Studied and assisted Director of Engineering and manufacturing with Poka-Yoke analysis; DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Report); DOE (Design of Experiment) and GATE documents. ENGINEERING PROJECTS

Crashworthiness & Occupancy Protection Projects Winter 2017

4 Projects related to FEA (Finite Element Analysis) Crash Analysis of Car which includes Frontal Crash Analysis, Roof Crush Analysis, Rear Crash Analysis & Composite Materials and Structural Formulation for Crash Analysis wherein LS-Dyna software was used to analyze the crash and the car modify in many ways, comparing the modified vehicle with the baseline car to minimize and limit the after-crash effect.

Introduced new methods of connection to get optimum results & thus, give crash analysis results of CSI & HIC plots for the dummy model of driver following the FMVSS norms. Automated Dual Axis Solar Tracking System using Photodiode as a Sensor September 2015 – April 2016

Designed and fabricated a novel prototype design of a solar tracking system using photodiode as a sensor to actively track solar radiation and adjust the panel perpendicular to sun’s rays to maximize the power output.

Being the Leader of the group, I modeled the design of solar tracking system on SolidWorks software such that the solar panel could rotate 360 which proved successful and effective and increased the efficiency by 28%. Automatic Street Lightning System March 2015 – April 2015

Developed a prototype model of automatic street lights using IC555 as a timer circuit connected to a sensor to switch on & off the street lights as car passes through the sensor thus saving a lot of electric energy. MINOR PROJECTS

Analysis of Effect of Spring-Mass system using NDE methods Fall 2017 Composite Laminate Design of Wind Turbine Blade Fall 2016 Modeling of a Bike Shock Absorber October 2015

Anti-Lock Braking System September 2013

OTHER EXPERIENCE

CAD Designer – Volunteer Work Wayne State University (Detroit, MI, USA) April 2018 – May 2018

Designed components and parts based on specifications from Professor, Research Assistants & PhD students and detailed manufacturing drafting for Biomedical applications (SolidWorks).

Supported to define problem statements, conduct design reviews and deliver technical assistance to resolve issues. Associate Teacher Everest Institute June 2014 – August 2014

Assigned teaching responsibility of Engineering Drawing, Mechanics, Math and English to first year undergraduate students with duties of carrying out tutorial sessions for the same. Volunteer – Community Service AEHI – Vijay Gupta Foundation December 2015 – January 2016
