Senior Application Manager Business Relationship Manager Project Manager

Directed 24x7 production support and development for a large portfolio of applications spanning multiple technologies and platforms following ITIL best practices. Managed a diversified on and off shore staff, prioritizing assignments across multiple projects. Served as primary business relationship manager ensuring production issues were correctly logged and assigned with expedient remediation as well as root cause analysis was followed. Functioned as a key contributor in the establishment of product technical roadmaps with a strong concentration on efficiencies and process improvement

—Projects / Technology Migrations—

Coordinated several roll-outs of a VB .Net 3rd party application residing on user’s desktops with a base of several thousand users. This required coordination of multiple roll-outs to address operating system upgrades from Windows NT to Windows 7 and subsequently Windows 10.

Led the migration of six legacy multi-platform applications to upgraded versions of the hosting servers to Windows 2012 and SQL databases to SQL 2014. This was part of a company-wide program to bring all Windows hardware and operating systems up to standard.

Served as application manager in the migration of a web-based system from the AIG Data Center to the AWS cloud that encompassed extensive architectural review, modifications, and functional / performance testing to ensure a seamless implementation without business interruption. A 20% infrastructure cost savings was achieved as a result of this migration.

Led the effort of firmly addressing security vulnerabilities identified in a portfolio of applications as part of a companywide initiative to safeguard sensitive information.

Project managed an initiative involving the implementation of a 3rd party vendor’s SaaS quality assurance product as part of an underwriting excellence program. Partnered by with the business and vendor teams in preparing a business funding case, product implementations and incorporating interfaces and processes into the AIG infrastructure. The effort was completed on time and under budget utilizing a hybrid Agile approach.

Managed the project to convert 3 VB 6 desktop applications’ functionalities into a single JAVA web-based system. This effort greatly reduced technical debt and contributed to more ease of migrations of desktops and Citrix environments to upgraded OS versions.

—Cross-Functional Collaboration—

Served as a primary business liaison between the clients and technical support teams in identifying and compiling data on user bases and technologies and systems in use for ensuring infrastructure and application upgrades or migrations were undertaken with no interruptions to business.

Key task force member defining process and procedures for application verifications impacted by infrastructure upgrades and patching.

AIG TECHNOLOGIES 2000 – 2005

Project Manager

Led multiple initiatives in the property and casualty insurance area.

Complied with the Insurance Industry Committee on Motor Vehicle Administration (IICMVA) standards by driving the development of an application to provide real-time online verification of automobile insurance coverage with web-service interfacing for multiple state DMVs.

Led the project to migrate a web-based automobile liability reporting application from an IBM mainframe to an AS/400 which also included a system expansion for multi-client usage encompassing the ability to report to individual state DMVs requirements. Maintained on-going customer relationship and application support for all clients using the system.

50% savings on future IT costs achieved for a client by managing portions of a transition project for a suite of more than 150 insurance applications including a full data center lift to AIG from Crum & Forster.

Took charge of an at-risk project for a customized policy and claims product for a client. Analysis and remediation of all issues resulted in acceptance of the system and receipt of $350K.

Additional experience as a Technical Lead in transportation and warehouse management systems for Unilever Home and Personal Care and as a sales / marketing systems Project Manager for Hoffman LaRoche, both positions as a contractor. Also worked as a Project Manager in support of financial applications and change management for Sea-Land Service, Inc.
