Company has decided to build a Data Lake to improve/update to the current trend in technology. Currently the EDW is built in Teradata which is loading through Informatica PC, now the proposed change is to pull the data directly from the source system through Informatica and push the data files in to AWS S3 and to the publish layer for the business use.

Morningstar indexes has decided to change the data source for the equity data which was currently delivered by Factset to an internal data source, which eventually remove the dependency over the Factset data and allow a flexibility of running the ETL process from monthly to daily for better data availability and reliability.

Russell investment risk division decided to change the convert the Customer Information Base data pull that is built in SSIS to a managed services process though Informatica, which includes creating a XML file in which the benchmark and custodian information sent to Risk Metrics (MSCI) to get the Simulation reports.

The high-level scope of this project is to extract the data from EDM data store, transform in to business rules and load in to EDW tables once the data is available in the EDW tables, generate BI reports against the EDW for the Business Users.

Assisted Business Analyst with drafting the requirements, implementing design and development of various components of ETL.

Project: Russell Risk Metrics (Sep 2011 – Nov 2012)

This is a development project to identify or calculate risk exposure for funds and private investments which are all dealing by Russell Investments. As a part of this risk calculation Risk Metrics services are being contracted by Russell for the purpose of Risk reporting. This analytics data and reports would be published for online access to Russell users. The Risk calculation and reporting becomes all the more important with respect to compliance with UCITS IV and other regulatory requirements.

As a part of above requirement, I have created few ETL jobs to load the market risk data with respect to Positions and Securities in to our staging table and create the XML files out of our ETLs. Those XML files will be processed in the Risk Metrics engine, after all the risk calculation is done our process will receive the Result and error log information as CSVs and XMLs from Risk Metrics. Our process will load those in to our staging tables.

Project: Hewitt - Bank of Montreal (Migration of ETL jobs to Informatica 8.6)

The Bank of Montreal wanted to migrate all the ETL process from a very old Informatica 5.1 to Informatica 8.6.1 and Hewitt wanted to re-host the servers from Unisys to their in-house servers. The scheduling was also needed to be done in Control-M instead of Tivoli. This migration also necessitated to implement various new features of Informatica 8.6.1 and apply performance tuning to significantly improve the performance. Bank of Montreal used 3 repositories for itself and its subsidiaries and complex task of development of mappings using single repository without any change in existing functionalities was needed.

Took responsibility of migrating all the mappings of Harris Bank (a subsidiary of Bank of Montreal) and successfully migrated the same into new environment which had just a single repository instead of three repositories.

Developed shell scripts for all the workflows of Harris Bank with the help of the Team Lead.

Developed wrapper scripts that were to be used in Control-M a scheduling tool.

Applied various performance tuning measures by identifying various performance bottlenecks that were widely prevalent in the old system setup.

Developed unit test cases for Unit Testing and performed unit testing.
