● Work on crew in disassembly, removal and installation of spools (3/4” to 96”)
● Complete tasks efficiently, safely and per industry standards in a timely manner
● Able to measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings
● Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use for specific tasks and projects
● Hydrostatic testing of installed piping systems
● Use rigging methods (bull or crane)to install spools, valves and other piping materials to location using slings, shackles, chainfalls and lashing
● Maintain good relations with clients and fellow employees through effective interpersonal and communication skills
● Work overtime, day and night shift to suit company needs
● Undertake tasks either in small groups or singly, depending on the complexity and safety requirements
APPRENTICE STEAMFITTER 2015 TO 2018
● Follow instructions of journeyman to learn industry practices, standards and skills
● Fabricate spools for outages, replacement and new construction (avg, 100” daily)
● Plan and conduct pressure tests as required by code and or specifications.
● Tack, grind and use basic tools of the trade under supervision of mentors
● Work on carbon, stainless and inconel piping in oil and gas industry
● Have physical strength, stamina and the use of proper lifting techniques required to manage heavy materials and stand for long periods
● Grow knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings
● Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure in position
● Contribute to pre-job Tool Box meetings, ensure FLRA cards are completed fully as part of each job/task
