Supervision - Proctor Management System JAN 2018 - MAY 2018 Software Engineering Intern, Supervisor - Prof. Dilip Motwani
● Project description - Supervision is a homegrown solution to an institute's invigilation needs built by the students. It can be used to add exam blocks, assign designation to a faculty, assign exemptions for a particular faculty, assign blocks to a faculty, generate reports in an excel spreadsheet format, automatically assign blocks, remove all the data for a fresh start.
● Role - Created functionality for automatic assignment of proctors to an exam block using C#, implemented logic for data-retrieval using SQL queries in C#, resolved bugs and inconsistencies.
● Technologies used - SQL, C#, ASP.NET, HTML.
● Impact - Automation of jobs which required nearly 1,000 man-hours per year, resulting in estimated financial savings of approximately $16,000.
PROJECTS
Getting Things Done with Serverless Home Automation JUN 2018 - MAY 2019
● Problem statement - The project allows an individual to track time spent working on tasks using a voice interface app and provide visual feedback through smart lights. The user data was used to generate insights which were used to enhance user productivity.
● Role - In-charge of generating insights from user data stored in MSSQL database which would help users be more productive by identifying time periods where they would be the most distracted and providing solutions using IBM Watson to combat this problem.
● Technologies used - SQL, IBM Watson.
● Awards - Secured 2nd place in Tantravihar, Annual Intra-collegiate Capstone Project Competition. SaaS Platform for Music Teachers JAN 2020 - MAY 2020
● Problem statement - Personalized, in-person music lessons come with many expenses - the teacher or students need to travel to for the lesson, the teacher needs to buy additional instruments for students, a physical location needs to be bought/rented for the lessons to take place and the teaching space is under-utilized if student lessons are not scheduled throughout the day.
● Solution - Our SaaS application attempts to address the pain points mentioned above by developing the application based on the MVC Framework Rails by applying Behavior Driven Design using Cucumber along with Test Driven Development using RSpec to successfully launch the application by the end of May 2020.
● Pain points addressed - The platform will allow teachers and students to interact through live video and chat for lessons. The expenses for teachers which include buying additional instruments, buying/renting a physical location are eliminated. Additionally, no travel is required for either the teacher or the students.
● Technologies in use - Ruby, Rails, Cucumber, RSpec, Pivotal Tracker. EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACHIEVEMENTS
Trinity College London JUN 2015 - MAY 2019
Music Grade Examinations - Theory of Music
● Scored 98/100, 96/100 and 72/100 in Levels 2, 5 and 8 respectively.
