Drilling, Completions and Facility Construction (DC&FC) EH&S Advisor / Coordinator

Developed and prepared training materials, presentations, emergency response and project safety plans to educate & motivate corporate and contractor personnel through site specific orientations and on/off site safety (project kick-off) meetings. Completed site safety audits, inspections, behavioral observations and coaching as well as conducting Incident Investigations and corrective action plans. Supported the development of monthly HSE statistical reports to drive forward and continuously improve safety culture and performance. Working closely with the corporate H.S.E. department to develop and Implement a Behavior Based Safety (BBS) process with both Canada and the USA drilling and completions operations. Traveled extensively to liaise with D&C stakeholders onsite conducted introductory training sessions which included worker/crew video observations and feedback coaching. Facilitated the development of individual and team safety initiatives, monitored and evaluated contractor and individual safety performance initiatives. Other assignments included conducting incident investigations and site inspections, working collaboratively to reduce risk of incident occurrence and implement SMART corrective actions.

Increased workers knowledge of and participation in proactive safety activities by creating an electronic measurement and performance trending process to track their individual and team/crew performance.

Drilling and Completions (D&C) EH&S Coach

Networked and collaborated with all contractors relevant to western Canada D&C operations to learn a wide variety of Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) and Advanced Safety Audit (ASA) processes. Regularly traveled to field sites within Western Canada to introduce, train, implement and monitor contractor BBS & ASA process and participation. I liaised with corporate contractor management to educate and motivate them to develop and implement their own BBS observation and feedback processes.

This engagement lead to increased worker and contractor participation in safety initiatives, leading indicators as well as reduced numbers of chemical exposures and safety incidents.

Became a leader and champion of change in the safety industry, due to the wide acceptance and buy in of multiple companies giving invitations to present BBS & ASA process information to their management at offsite and spring meeting events.
