I have worked on several main program groups: GAS(selling buying hauling), some banking, revamping much of the Marketing's UPC department(price book modernization). I built a PO/REQ system that was used for several years. I have done alot of IFS processing including a stand alone program called ASENDC that is the standard now used to send CSV files created from reports to client IFS share folders. I have been exposed to Infinium which is based on RPGLE (creating custom mods). As a part of a two-man team, I have converted the GL from fiscal based to calendar based system. (no one has done that before in Infinium or so I am told).

I have built several SFTP processes for outside vendors as in sending paystubs to an online service. I even built an AS400 email processor for emailing reports to clients in the building based on SPOOLMAIL prg.

I have done a little C# and was lastly playing with XML and LINQ stuff. The biggest C# project was a Time Clock process for our trainers in the field to track the trainees time and report their hours to payroll with a batch process loading said time to the 400.

The majority of my work here has been development for the systems listed above or rewriting old inflexible programs. I feel that we are about 10+ years behind in tech and have been restricted to what we use, but I make “easy to use” programs that are well documented.

I worked various contracts. I believe Robert half sent me to a food distributor Zanios Foods to teach the users how Query worked. I also did some free lance to upgrade phone software remoting into Seattle Washington. I was adjusting the YEAR in affected programs for the infamous Y2K .

Oct 1997 – Dec 1998

Cave Enterprises, Albuquerque NM

Cave Ent. had a couple of contracts in Alb. I worked at a long distance phone service, ATG. I was a support programmer working with switches and LECs. In addition, I also worked on the billing process.

1995 – Oct 1997

Interim Technologies, Houston Tx

was contracted to Exxon for Blending Packaging and Warehousing Systems ; support position for any help or program adjustments in warehousing petroleum products. I was exposed to SYNON. To help my position along, I created a "trouble shooting" program from VB using 3 1/2 floppies with BMPs of flow chart like error checking flow.

Oct 1994 – 1995

CPI, Houston, Tx

I started free gratis as an intern working 2 hours in the evening converting some OCL to native 400 programming / file structure. Eventually, they offered me a job. I was subordinate to the lead and we were doing some cascading AS400 windows and subfiles. The company was responsible for controlling the sales circulars for JCPenny.

June, 1980 - Oct 1994

Exxon Credit card Center, Houston Tx

I worked as report delivery, processed paper tickets from credit card sales(REI equipment), created several programs on the IBM 3090 for use by our section. Eventually moved to print operations downtown. Due to downsizing, I finished in the tape/cartridge support dept.
