Holla is an events company, where I worked on a part-time basis while studying. I worked at various events as a promotor for the company, at events such as: Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Levi’s Pioneer Weekend, SA Fashion Week, The National Day of Prayer held by the Motsepe Foundation, Good Food & Wine Show and many other events.

SAMANCOR EASTERN CHROME MINES

I worked at Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines in Steelpoort Limpopo from 2013, for a period of two months per year. This was part of my bursary agreement, where I was required to complete my vocational work during my school breaks. During this time, I got the opportunity to work alongside underground miners, shift supervisors and mine overseers. I was also required to work at various mining departments such as: The Rock Engineering, Geology, Surveying, Safety and the Mine Planning Department. I got the opportunity to work at all three of the company’s underground mines.

From January 2019, I was employed on a fixed term basis as graduate Mining Coordinator in training, at one of Samancor’s underground shafts (Tweefontein Mine) situated in Limpopo province. My responsibilities were predominately that of a learner miner, and in the process I also obtained my Shift Supervisory Certificate, and are currently in the process of attaining the Mines Blasting Certificate of Competency for Scheduled Mines (my 3

exam date has been already been scheduled with Limpopo’s Department of Mineral Resources for March 2020).
