Experience

May 2017 - December 2019, FNP student at Columbus State University.

I have over 800 clinical hours of hands on experience in providing care across the life span. 270 of those hours being obtained in the Family Practice, 135 in Pediatrics, 135 in Obstetrics, 135 in Elderly, 45 in Assessments, and 45 in Clinical Reasoning. I provided treatment of common medical complaints and conditions, and counseled patients on various topics related to care. Order and interpret diagnostic test, interpret results and recommend treatment of patients. Prescribe medications and evaluate outcomes of prescribed treatments. Assisted in providing care for high volume of patients with diabetes as well as tailored diabetes education based on response of lab results. All, of the care I provided was overseen and approved by the Family Nurse Practitioner who I precepted me.

August 2019- Current Registered Nurse Supervisor Orchard View

House supervisor, I oversee a five -unit LTC with a Rehab unit. orchestrate educational In-service’s via power points, verbalization, direct teaching using demonstration, and handwritten text on Infection Control, Patient Care, Resident Rights, and Disaster Preparedness just to name a few. Resident Care Coordinator of staff assignments and direct hands on Resident Care. Administration of oral and IV medications, wound care to include suture removal, central line care and removal, trach care, transcription of Physician orders, and rounding with Physician and Nurse Practitioner.

November /2014- August /2019 Nurse Manager Orchard View

Managed an Alzheimer / Behavioral unit that held 42 Residents and employed 12 employees. Made high level decisions regarding best plan of patient needs. Educational In-service’s via power points, verbalization, and written text. Direct teaching via demonstration daily staff assignments and Safety Preparedness Skills, direct resident care, and multi-versed in computer skills. Rounding, with Physician and Nurse Practitioner, part of IDT.

Clinical floor nurse that performed admission assessments, IV insertion, medication administration via mouth, IV and intra dermally. Wound management and document electronically.

Collected blood, and other laboratory specimens and prepared them for lab testing as well as rounded with Doctor and Nurse Practitioner. Wrote verbal and written orders on the physician order sheets, arranged staff according to the resident’s needs. Provide in-service’s on areas of improvement and suture removal.
