IN-SILICO AND IN-VITRO ANTIDIABETIC ACTIVITY OF CERTAIN SYNTHESIZED FLAVONOIDS

Flavonoids are the group of naturally occurring poly phenolic compounds. Present widely in vegetables, fruits, grains, tea, stems and roots. Flavonoid possesses various pharmacological actions including its anti- diabetic activity.

Drugs like pioglitazone, sulfonylureas and α glycosidase inhibitors will improve glucose tolerance But these drugs have more side effects like fluid retention, ankle swelling, skin problems, abdominal gas, hypoglycaemia. Based on the epidemiologic evidence, high intake of plant food will reduce the risk of these side effects.
