781-***-**** adc8xg@r.postjobfree.com 402 Ridge Street, Arlington, MA Dear Brooking Institution Recruiting Team,

My name is Anto Kechejian and I am currently a senior at Boston University studying Economics with a minor in Applied Statistics. I am seeking full-time positions with availability after May 2020. Based on my academic and professional experience with research, strategy and analytics, I believe I would be able to contribute to The Brookings Institution’s mission of conducting in-depth research that leads to new ideas for solving problems facing society at the local, national and global level as a Research Assistant. I am passionate about the power of data. This summer, I exercised that passion through an internship at MEMIC, an insurance company in Portland, Maine. At MEMIC, I applied my knowledge of analytics and strategy to create a market research report in Microsoft Power BI that I presented to company executives. The President of MEMIC’s Atlantic region used this analysis and my recommendations as a basis to expand the company into the Tennessee market.

I also had the opportunity to gain data analytics experience while studying abroad in London this past spring. I completed a seven-week internship in the fraud and compliance department of Caxton FX, a financial services company. I worked extensively with Excel data sets containing 100,000+ rows to create data visuals and reports to identify suspicious trading activity. I also compiled a database of instances of money laundering and fraud from over 100 different countries and delivered recommendations to the compliance manager to determine Caxton’s risk perception of said countries. Beyond technical competence, I gained an appreciation for cultural agility in the workplace.

To build my analytical skills and client-facing expertise, I took advantage of Boston University’s extracurricular consulting opportunities for the past three years. Through these experiences, I learned the value of teamwork and leadership through example. I further built my analytical abilities by developing and presenting my honors keystone project and by completing coursework in data science, econometrics, and advanced statistical methods. In aggregate, my experiences have given me strength in rigorous data analysis, client communication, and teamwork. If selected for the Research Assistant role, I would be thrilled to grow at a reputable public policy organization rooted in open-minded inquiry. Thank you for your time. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions by phone at 781-***-**** or by email at adc8xg@r.postjobfree.com. All the best,

Anto Kechejian
