EXPERIENCE

SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER • FOXBORO COMPANY• 1994 – 2019

Using NX Unigraphics designed and detailed electro/mechanical components of instruments used to measure Flow, Pressure, and Temperature in process lines measuring Chemical/Petrol and Food lines, both liquid and gas.

Product lines were designed to adhere to standards for pressure containment, (CRN and PED) as well as standards dealing with electric/mechanical devices to be used in explosive atmospheres

(IEC 60079-7 and ANSI/FM 60079-29).

Responsibilities included procuring materials and building prototypes for testing to company standards.

Worked as a team with EE, SE and other ME’s when designing new products. On completion of designs I would work with ME’s and floor supervisors to instruct the Manufacturing personal how to build the new products. During which time I would photo the builds to use in a Functional Assembly Document.

Design labels using Illustrator used on the products to describe the different Agencies the units were approved for. Using both WORD and EXCEL, was responsible to create BOMs used to load the Manufacturing SAP systems

Received 2 patents, both for designs involving Vortex Flow Measurement: US 8,042,411 B2, US 9,322,683 B2

Was the first person using 3d Solids (AutoCad) to design lottery machines involving Injected Molded Plastics and Sheet Metal components

MECHANICAL DRAFTER/DESIGNER • DIGITAL • 1978 – 1991 Worked on Designs involved with Electronics Packaging of the large and small computers sold in the 70’s and 80’s using Unigraphics.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

I often spend my spare time working on cars. I own two mustangs that I have refurbished. I also spent three years helping a friend restore his first car, 1969 GTO Convertible from the frame up. I also enjoy music and play guitar.
