RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Preparation and characterization of catalyst
• Designed a novel and highly selective catalyst (Zr/ZIF-8) for the efficient transformation of CO2 to organic carbonates
• Used multiple-physicochemical techniques such as XRD, TEM, SEM, BET, XPS, TGA, FTIR and RM to characterize the prepared catalyst.
• Carried out catalyst stability and leaching test to study the viable for large-scale industrial applications of the prepared catalyst.
Synthesis of organic carbonates from carbon dioxide
• Synthesized several organic carbonates e.g. Propylene carbonate, Styrene carbonate from CO2 and epoxide using the prepared Zr/ZIF-8 catalyst.
• Demonstrated effective utilization and conversion of CO2 to value-added chemicals.
• Used Design Expert software for process optimization of organic carbonates synthesis.
• Demonstrated experience in NMR, HPLC/GC-MS for
sample analysis.
Excellent HAZOP Knowledge
• Performed full hazardous operations (HAZOP) and risk assessments. Used findings to design safety and
environmental awareness programs that reduced
harmful emissions, strengthened regulatory compliance and lowered laboratory injuries by less than 5%.
Work experience
• Internship at ADEX Research, UK Limited. Duties
included design and analysis of several organic
carbonates.
• Synthesized and optimized various chemical and
catalytic materials as active ingredients for the
production of catalysts.
