Summary

Knowledgeable and team oriented Civil Engineer with practical work experience as a Field Engineer through the completion of two urban natural gas pipeline construction projects. Relevant Experience

Engineer in Training, Michels Canada, Coquitlam BC June 2018 – December 2019 Field level engineering position for Michels Canada on FortisBC’s LMIPSU Project in Coquitlam, BC. Michels is the Prime Contractor for the construction of a 20km NPS 30 natural gas pipeline from Vancouver to Coquitlam.

• Full time work at the LMIPSU field office allowed me to maintain a strong field presence through daily construction meetings, daily progress/safety meetings and regular interface with field foremen and the Client

• Prepared Construction Execution Plans, Hydrostatic Test Plans, Requests for Information, material cost estimates and sub-contractor Scope’s of Work

• Managed the Projects geotechnical sub-contractor, and procured engineered trench boxes, slide rail systems and shoring equipment

• Created daily project progress reports regarding performance, schedule and safety

• Structural pipe support utility crossing design

• Provided general support to the Project Engineer, Project Manager, Superintendent and QA/QC Manager

Field Engineer, Universal Pegasus International (UPI), Calgary AB August 2017 – May 2018 Field Engineer on behalf of UPI for ATCO Pipelines SWCC pipeline project.

• Supported the Contractor with Hydrostatic Testing as the ATCO representative through; review and approval of all hydrostatic test plans, interface with Environmental Lead regarding water source/water discharge permits and procedures, review of pressure calculations, full-time presence during pressure tests to inspect the Contractors’ procedure and record data

• Managed and documented engineering activities regarding designs and drawings, Requests for Information, field design changes, outstanding action items and Non Conformance Reports

• Supported of the QA/QC team through review and approval of documentation for hydrostatic test- heads and horizontal directional drill pull-heads. Reviewed all horizontal directional drill execution and pull back plans

• Provided general support to the Project Manager, Chief Inspector and Assistant Construction manager through report preparation, procurement, material management and contract administration Intern, Universal Pegasus International, Calgary AB May 2014 – April 2015

• Coordinated the purchasing and expediting of materials by utilizing Material Requisitions, Bills of Materials and Expediting spreadsheets to ensure materials arrived on time and met specifications

• Communicated with sub-contractors for initial designs and capabilities. Prepared Scope of Work and Request for Proposal for a radio communication system needed for pipeline construction

• Coordinated and interfaced with various disciplines including GIS, Drafting, Project Controls and Procurement. Assisted with coordinating with these disciplines to update project schedule and monthly reports

• Compiled a study on In-line Inspection Tools and created a memorandum for the client which recommended the most appropriate tool for a pipeline project Education

• “Green Line LRT Planning and Design”. My project team performed an engineering system analysis for the City of Calgary on its future Green Line LRT to determine the theoretical terminus stations, station locations, required fleet size, schedule, mode selection and transfer analysis between the other two existing C-Train lines.
