2013-2014 Practicum Experience (Ryerson University) Youthdale Adolescent Assessment Unit-assessment, diagnosis, early treatment of adolescents under the age of 16. Experience with non-violent crises management directed towards reducing restraint use, medication management, group and family therapies, ongoing risk assessment and partnering with community agencies. CAMH Women’s Complex Trauma Unit- embedded in this program was the Sanctuary Model, trauma informed care and assessment for risk. The program assisted women with diverse mental health histories who have experienced complex trauma, to develop coping strategies and safety plans through the use of current research and best practices; individual therapy, DBT, CBT, mindfulness and personalized plans of care to manage trauma related symptoms such as chronic pain.
