I am Certified Chiropractic Physician's Assistant. I was trained and educated by Chiropractic Education Network through Sherman College of Chiropractic. In my profession I excel in making sure patients are getting the most excellent care and getting the care they need. I make sure when patients visit with me that all avenues are being explored to find out what is best for their health and well being. Certified Chiropratic Physician's Assistant Job Duties: I reviewed patient charts for full medical history before performing exams. When entering the room, I would introduce myself and job title. I would get patient vitals, go through all patient medical history, medication history, family history, allergies, and social history with the patient to make sure all information is correct. I would then get a thorough reason as to why the patient is being seen. I would proceed to exam the patient by performing range of motion test, muscle test, reflexes, sensation, check for a concussion, perform all orthopedic examination that is needed palpate the patient areas of complaint. I would then assist the patient into the x-ray room to have x-rays done with the doctor. I would inform the patient on what is needed to be removed for the x-ray procedure and how to put on the gown for procedure. I would let the doctor know when the patient was ready to be seen for x-rays. While the doctor was seeing the patient for x-rays I would input all patients' information from exam into the EMC (electronic medical chart). When completed, I would leave the chart in the doctors bin to be reviewed and signed off. When chiropractic assistants on the therapy floor needed help with patient flow or with the therapeutic exercises, I would assist them until next exam was ready. When the front desk needed help with putting together patient charts, putting away patient charts, answering phones, inputting patient information into the EMC, or scheduling I would assist them as needed until next patient exam. When patient came into office for therapy, I greeted them and if needed took vitals. If the patient was new to therapies I walked them through their care plan and all the services I was going to provide/ assist them with each visit. I would watch over patients while they were performing therapies making sure they did all services that ordered for them during that visit and make sure they were doing therapies right. When patient was due for adjustment, I help them to the doctor adjustment bed to be seen with the doctor. When patient was due for injections I would room patient for the nurse practitioner to see them. If nurse practitioner needed me to assist them during injections I would assist them as needed. If a re-examination was due, I took patients vitals and roomed them for the doctor and nurse practitioner to see them. When the patient was prescribed durable medical equipment I would hand out and explain how to use the equipment to the patient. After each visit I asked if the patient had any questions about visit or equipment and answered questions. After the office closed each day I made sure all procedures/ therapies, signed documents, and patient chart notes were uploaded to the EMC (electronic medical chart). When patients came into the office, I checked them into our scheduling system. If the patient was new I received all the patient information needed to register as a new patient. I assisted with making sure all co-payments were made and if there were any issues with billing I helped direct the patient to whom they needed to speak with. I helped upload patient information into billing and scheduling systems. I also made phone calls to patients who were no call no show or late to their appointments and for appointment reminders. When phone calls came in, I took down any messages for the medical assistants, office manager, or doctor if they were unavailable to speak. If needed, I called 911 when a patient was in critical condition. When the office closed down, I made sure the lobby was neat and organized. I made sure all surfaces were wiped down as well as bathroom was clean and stocked. Back Office Job Duties:
When a room was available, I would assist patient to the room they were going to be seen in. I made sure the patient medical history and medication history was correct and up to date in patient chart. I recorded patient vitals (DOB, age, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, height, and weight) and reason for visit. I assisted with specific procedures and exam when the doctor or nurse practitioner needed me (pap smears, x-rays, wound care, sutures, etc.). I performed labs and drawing blood. When patient was being discharged, I made sure patient IV's were removed (if they had one) and bandaged up, I went over all patient education about condtion diagnosed with, I made sure I answered all patient questions before leaving. I also made sure patients prescriptions were called in or they left with all paper prescriptions in hand. When patient left I made sure rooms were clean for the next patient to come in. When in an emergency I assisted the doctor or nurse practitioner until EMS arrived. When office closed down, I made sure all rooms were stocked and thoroughly cleaned. I made sure all gowns were washed, dried, folded, and put away. I stocked lab station and thoroughly cleaned it. I made sure all bathrooms where clean in the back. I made sure the x-ray machine was shutdown properly and the room was cleaned as well. I made sure all patient charts (labs, procedures, imaging reports, summary visit) were uploaded to the EMC (electronic medical chart). I made inventory was up to date and when items were needed I put them on the inventory list to buy.
