VA Medical Center Ann Arbor MI (6/23/2019-Present): Quality Management Coordinator (20 hrs. per week). Involved in Readiness Rounds, EPRP Global Measures/DACS report audit, Quality Improvement Projects. Revised QI application guidelines, QM orientation. Helps with anything as directed.

Nursing Management Experience

University of Michigan Hospital 7/1/2008-5/30/2009): Interim Clinical Nurse Supervisor on Inpatient Medical/Surgical unit (40 hrs. per week plus 625 hrs. extra in 9 months over and above the call of duty); Responsible for: hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, problem solving and discipline. Was really looking forward to improving further and hardwiring to retain it but had to step back to concentrate on care of elderly parent (mother-in-law).

Unit Outcomes in 9 months of supervisory role:

Created unit guidelines on 8C for staff, patients and families in 2006.

Established and lead Unit based Safety Committee and Infection Control Committee.

Established daily rounding on all patients twice along with unit host.

Daily equipment check in rooms by unit host.

Cost containment: Reorganized supply room with savings of $10,000 per month since April, 2004, returned extra supplies worth $6, 000, $2,400 and $450 over few weeks.

Organized patient room as such reducing waste and improving availability of dressing change and patient care supplies.

Guidelines revised for RN, NA and CN performance during the assigned shift. Represented the unit on: the institutional Safety Committee as Safety Liaison, Infection Control Liaison, and Fall Reduction Committee member.

University of Michigan Hospital (3/1/2002-1/30/2003): Clinical Nurse II on Med/Surgical unit 8C (40 hrs. per week). Specialized in nursing care to plastic surgery patients with main focus on flap care. Helped CNS to standardize the monitoring and documentation of flaps in Plastic Surgery patients. I was assigned and was successful to improve working relationship between Plastic Surgery Service and inpatient unit nursing staff.

University of Michigan Health Center (1/21/2000-2/20/2002): Clinical Nurse I on Med/Surgical unit 8C (40 hrs. per week). Providing exceptional care to: Dermatology, General Surgery Endocrine, Plastic Surgery and University Family Medicine patient population as well as any other Medical and Surgical patients admitted to this medical/Surgical unit. Able to manage heavy patient assignment along with charge nurse duties and acted as a resource person to new staff. Was involved collaborating with physicians and other departments for excellent patient care and positive patient outcomes.
