PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

INFOSYS Fishers IN 2019 to Present

Technical Lead

Involved in all phases of the software development life cycle supporting batch and on-line applications to service student loans

I led a project involving over half dozen developers to gather metrics on various email jobs correlating the results and answering questions etc.

Designed and developed an automated solution to capture the required metrics for the email project. This solution saved client resources from having to manually interrogate over 300 JCL EXECS and in excess 1200 individual data-sets.

KFORCE/J.P. Morgan Chase, Westerville OH 2018 to 2019

Mainframe Engineer

As a member of a cross functional KANBAN team provided support for Integrated Test Environment (ITE) including automating and running test cycles for Critical Release quarterly releases and ‘Fastlane’ month releases using Zeke scheduler, modified JCL and created COBOL utility programs to ensure timely processing of Settlement and Money Management flows by creating email alerts/notification from mainframe jobs.

Ad hoc tasks such as granting CICS access to testers as needed, creation of test debit cards and re-suppling branches with stock of production ATM cards.

Designed and developed a software solution to automate the running of ITE test cycles leading to an increase in efficiency and significant cost reduction.

Part of a cross functional team to utilize Cucumber to automate the creation of test debit cards...

WESTFIELD GROUP, Westfield Center,OH 2004 to 2018

Property & Casualty insurance provider.

Application Developer III

Involved in all phases of software development lifecycle supporting an enterprise wide CICS based policy processing system for this mid sized insurance company. Responsible for project planning, program specifications, program design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and quality assurance review.

Extensive experience utilizing Websphere MQ for cross platform communication in the development of Service Orientated Architecture solutions. Serves as a mentor to other developers as well as resource for best programming practices. Coding is Assembler and COBOL mostly CICS on-line with some batch as well.

As a member of the Service Orientated Architecture team led the effort to use Java under CICS for providing services on the mainframe. Utilizing this approach has reduced Westfield's cost to deliver the services by 2/3. This was the first time Java had been used on the mainframe at Westfield. I also lead the infrastructure side of this effort.

After attending a IBM workshop that demonstrated CICS Events in 2013; in 2014 I designed and developed a CICS events solution to replace a batch process with real-time processing providing instant feedback to users. This was the first time CICS Events were deployed in the Westfield environment.

Designed the solution to provide email address to mainframe applications. Then led the team to build and take the solution to production. .

Designed and developed a reusable framework of programs utilized to consume services from the mainframe platform. This framework of programs uses Websphere MQ as the transport mechanism. The use of the Service Consumer framework is ubiquitous across Westfield's mainframe environment used in both online and batch it supports both synchronous and asynchronous messaging .modes in all environments. The use of the service consumer framework I designed resulted in increased agility across the IT enterprise..

Designed and coded an Assembler solution that resulted in the elimination of 6 to 7 million I/O calls per day in the production environment

Chief mainframe designer and developer of a system to schedule and run various client server based processes and jobs in an automated fashion as well as bring the results from the client server applications into the mainframe batch cycle.

Responsible for the monitoring the performance of a CICS system executing one half million transactions per day.

Responsible for the on-line yearly disaster recovery activities.

Also did the conversion of in house macros to make them LE conforming.

Identified flaws in software release procedures that led to incorrect adjudication of patient claims and system update quality control issues: Established and documented (for first time) improved system test procedures, reducing software defects by 7% in major releases.

Designed and developed system to automate production and maintenance of assembler and COBOL copybooks used to map IMS database segments, to assure conformity between client versions and master, and to save significant time in programming.
