Professional Summary

I am a compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with a doctorate in nursing practice, who has over three years of excellent working experience with adult patients in the acute and long-term healthcare settings. I have vast experience in diagnosing and prescribing treatment for patients with acute and chronic health conditions under the supervision of a collaborating doctor as required by state laws. My care is patient-centered and aligned with a holistic approach to optimizing patient satisfaction. I show empathy towards patients always, listens to their concerns, obtain health history, perform physical examination, order appropriate diagnostic tests, diagnose accurately and prescribe treatment. I have a great experience with the interpretation of different types of diagnostic reports. I am well versed in performing different procedures and documenting them accurately. I worked recently in the operating room assisting with obtaining history and physical of patients and ensuring the well being of patients before and after surgery. I am a great leader who listens to staff members and collaborates effectively with team members with the goal of improving patient care.

Although I have not officially taught in colleges and universities with my doctor of nursing practice degree, I have excellent teaching skills which has been demonstrated successfully at the workplace as a preceptor to new nurses, patient educator, school teacher at an elementary school, Sunday school class teacher in the church, and student-teacher to classmates at examination review/study sessions of a college.

As a registered nurse at East Central Regional Hospital, I provided excellent care to Individuals with psychiatric conditions admitted to the Forensic Center, Adult Mental Health and General Mental Health units. I also worked as a registered in the hospital, group homes, nursing home, home care setting and doctor offices. Never the less, I also worked for Inventiv Pharmaceutical company.

During my doctorate program at Wilkes University, I completed a doctoral research project focused on exploring the benefits of diabetic patient education on hemoglobin A1C. The finding of this research project revealed that diabetic patient education improves the knowledge and hemoglobin A1C of diabetes patients.

My community service includes health promotion and disease prevention through health awareness in the community and social media outlets.
