Conducted on-site, multi-year research exploring challenges to innovation in marginalized communities in Brazil. Designed a study using observation, semi-structured interviews, the analysis of company PR/content, oral histories and local archives to write final reports that show how social norms and cultural values influence user behavior over time. Preliminary findings showed that Brazilian communities that prioritized building institutional know-how and enjoyed infrastructural support that enabled them to innovate under crisis.
