PROJECT DETAILS
IOT BASED DISASTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC POLE: DESCRIPTION: The project aims to alert the local distribution board on any obstacle that may affect the pole. During Gaja cyclone due to strong winds total of 84,836 poles have been affected 1,152 km of high tension lines and 3,087 km of low tension lines and 841 distribution transformers were damaged mainly due to the cyclonic winds most of them caused by tree falling on poles. This is an internet of things based project where the data regarding the disturbance such as trees and banners that are near the pole are collected from distribution pole and sent to the cloud which can be viewed by an android app by the user. This helps in knowing the obstacles in advance that can potentially damage the pole and take necessary steps to prevent any damage to distribution system.
