• Positioning in GCU 506 (Mount Meron) as an air control officer o The ground control unit is responsible for creating the aerial image - a real time picture of all the aircraft that are in the airspace of the State of Israel and its surroundings.

o The Air control officer has a core role in the Air Force, which is responsible for controlling air traffic in all of Israel's air space, as well as for identifying infiltration attempts into Israel's airspace, launching and directing the IAF's interceptor weapons and aircraft systems to air targets.
