Material Handler

Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Record number of units handled or moved. Move freight, stock or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers. Sort cargo before loading or unloading. Assemble product containers or crates. Load and unload ship cargo. Pack containers and re- pack damaged containers. Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.

Picker/Packer

Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment mot meeting specifications. Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions. Record inspection or test data and quantities inspected or grades. Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
