Technologies configured included Multicast, VPNs for internal and external participant trial use. Network was 100% reliable for the first time in the history of CWID. Served as the Lead Engineer for the NATO AITB Initiative based up the CFBLNet’s BlackBone network as part of NATO and US next generation missile defense systems.

Successfully managed the deployment of 200 VoIP phones for Langley Air Force Base in Hampton VA. This project was the first for NGIT successfully implementing MLPP between Cisco’s CallManager cluster (1 Publisher and 3 Subscribers, plus 2 3825 voice gateways) and the Nortel SL100 base PBX. The deployment included IP/VC MCU for IP videoconferencing utilizing Cisco’s VT Advantage cameras and Berbee InformaCast for in-phone paging.
Successfully managed the installation of VoIP infrastructure at McKee Nelson LLP in Washington DC. VoIP cluster for Washington and New York offices. Responsibilities included Cisco data and VoIP network infrastructure installation for supporting more than 200 IP phones.
Successfully managed the implementation of VoIP infrastructure for the Smithsonian Institution. This implementation spans multiple states and will total nearly 9000 Cisco Systems IP phones. Responsibilities include managing data and voice engineering teams, providing task schedules and LOE estimates using MS Project, ensuring engineering technical documents meet client requirements, managing resource and infrastructure costs, gathering client requirements, and briefing clients on VoIP technologies during deployment phases.
Successfully managed the implementation of VoIP infrastructure for the Virginia Department of Health’s newly renovated building in Richmond VA. The building consisted on a new data center and 13 floors of user spaces. All total more than 750 Cisco VoIP phones and analog devices installed. Cisco 6509 core switches and Cisco 4507 closet switches installed.

Led project using Mitretek Sponsored Research (MSR) funding in the Advanced Telecommunications Laboratory (ATL). Project covered Voice over IP technologies utilizing IP Telephony client software, IP Telephony gateways and a PC-based PBX resulting in additional client funding and acceptance of a technical paper at the INET’99 conference.
Directed the design team for Mitretek’s headquarters’ LAN infrastructure and Frame Relay WAN including 900 user headquarter facility and 9 separate remote locations: analysis also included study of Fujitsu 9600 PBX for main location and key stations or Centrex solution for selected remote locations.
Drafted the technical SOW and participated as a member of the Source Selection Evaluation Board Technical Evaluation team to GSA’s Wiring and Cabling Services (WACS) procurement relating to inside and outside wiring and cabling resulting in successful award to 3 vendors for a potential contract vehicle estimated at 1 Billion dollars.
