Working with the FIRE AND LIFE SAFTY TEAM as Fire and Life Safety Inspector-Electrical, whose primary job was:

a.Inspect airport facility buildings and structures to assesses and identify potential fire hazards and other fire and life safety code non-compliant installation.

b.Inspect facilities that will store, handle, and use hazardous materials to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

c.Check buildings are equipped with fire detection and alarm systems, fire protection, control equipment, including fire extinguishers and ensure installation is in compliance with the latest edition of appropriate codes and standards.

d.Verify firestop and sealant installation are properly installed and documented by accredited/authorized installers and inspectors.

e.Explain fire and life safety code requirements to engineers and construction workers.

f.Check for combustible materials, electrical installation safety compliance, inadequate or non-functional fire exits and signage.

Monitor the Contractor’s plant machineries and manpower usage.

Carries out the review and approval of Contractor’s methods statements and advice on construction methodology.

Verify and ensure Fire and Life Safety requirement are followed and installed by the contractor, ie; Emergency Power and lighting system requirement, electrical rooms access and egress, warning and directional signs, emergency lighting illumination, Fire and smoke detectors requirements in each spaces, proper requirement and installation of Manual Pull Stations, visual and audio alarms and electrical installation in hazardous locations.

Verify that the works are being carried out in accordance with the accepted methods statements and report any non-conformance to my Senior Engineer or Resident Engineer.

Advise and assist my Senior Engineer/Resident Engineer with the coordination of interfacing contracts.

Interacts daily with the Contactor’s site engineers and Quality Control Engineers.
