Manufacturing Assembler
FORD MOTOR COMPANY - Kansas City, MO
February 2015 to October 2019
Some of my nightly tasks while working here would've been to setup the machine I would be operating that night, and to get the stock I would need to make it through the night, also to use a forklift to get as much extra material as needed. I would also get put on wires some nights where I would have to run the wiring through the cab of each and every truck that went down the line, and we usually made up to 600 trucks a night on average. Keeping a clean and safe work space throughout the night was always a priority, and setting up for the next shift so it would be ready when they came in to work was just how I learned to be. Luckily with my experience I could usually fix a machine close by for someone if broke down so we wouldn't have to be down and stop production any longer than needed. I became what they considered a utility, where I could be put on any job on the assembly line and then some . Railcrew transporter
RENZENBERGER - Lenexa, KS
March 2014 to February 2015
My responsibility was to drive to different train stations all within a 200 mile radius, dropping off and picking up crews at all hours after 10 hours of rest. In between pickups I had to inspect the van I was driving at the time which included checking the fluids, and tires to make sure everything was going to make the next trip I got called on. Logging my hours on each trip, and miles traveled on each trip was up to me, so that I could make sure I got paid correctly every pay period. When picking up a crew it was up to me to go into the train stations to find the crew I was there to pickup on the trip I was making, and make sure they were fully loaded before taking off. Some nights I would have to pickup another crew and drop off the one I had with me at a train that was broke down on the tracks, which meant that that I would have to help get out and setup flares and orange cones to warn oncoming traffic to slow down or stop. So it all depended on the type of trip I was making, whenever I was called in that day or night.
