Cover Letter for Caseworker

To Hiring Manager of Save the children Egypt

Dear Sir,

As a passionate person that is deeply motivated and has huge interests to work in development particularly the education sector, and As a Political Science major student, I have grown more and more enthusiastic about learning about our true meaning of existence. And since everyone is in a pursuit of understanding and coping with life, acquiring knowledge in my fields of concentration has been a personal attempt of making sense of what life is, with all it has to offer. I am excited to apply for Caseworker at Save the Children as it perfectly matches my personal professional interests.

It is one thing to study courses to fulfill your major requirements, whereas it makes all the difference in the world when you eagerly want to learn all there is about your topics of interest. Moreover, I had the opportunity to work on the educational grants for refugee children at Catholic Relief Services. I volunteered as case worker in a program that basically aims to provide education grants to refugee students. I was also subjected to different types of refugees at the annual mission CRS offers to provide refugees living outside Cairo with the educational grant. Also, I have worked on several projects with at Caritas Egypt and Rotary Egypt to help better the lives of Unaccompanied and Separated children, and as the Vice president of Rotaract Giza Metropolitan we are currently working on a project with SCI to provide winter essentials to unaccompanied refugees minors. My experience has exposed me to the refugee context in Egypt and associated political and cultural challenges as I worked with so many nationalities with different backgrounds, conflicts, social cases.

My passion towards Political Science generally and development specifically has pushed me to pursue knowledge not for grades, and quite literally not for graduating with highest honors, although these have not left my list of goals, but more importantly, acquiring knowledge for the sake of intellectual enlightenment. Having lived in a third world country all my life, I have known the meaning of the effects of poor education, rising levels of unemployment and the implications of political unrest on the welfare of the people; and for this reason, I took an oath upon myself to be the driver of change. However, I have been taught all my life that change needs good minds, and that minds are not inherited, quite oppositely, they are built through knowledge and effort. The desire to change and influence cannot be fulfilled without experiencing different parts of the world and getting exposed to different environments.

I am positive I am prepared to fit in the position and help your organization immediately with its challenging and ambitious goals. I would love to meet and discuss my experiences and qualifications.

Yours sincerely

Nihal Kamar
