Hardcopy Documentation —Used FrameMaker, Word, and various graphics programs to produce new and revised hardcopy manuals. Following documentation standards defined in templates, formatted each source file while writing the text and adding supporting graphics. Responsible for determining content, organization, style, and presentation.

Set up the FrameMaker book file for every multiple-file manual. Created, edited, and managed numerous graphics using programs such as PhotoShop, PaintShop, and Snagit. Whenever possible, used electronic (versus

hard-coded) cross-references to ensure automatic updating during regeneration. Coordinated technical and editorial reviews of all documents produced.

Online Help — Used RoboHelp and Word to produce Windows-based online help systems that display in pop-up windows. Also used Adobe WebWorks combined with FrameMaker to produce Windows-based context-sensitive online Help systems.

Time-sensitive Documents — Used FrameMaker and Word to produced time-sensitive documents such as technical bulletins and engineering updates, usually assigned the highest priority and completed as soon as possible. Quickly gathered relevant information from appropriate sources, documented the issue(s), and conducted quick reviews of the document. Converted finalized documents to PDF format and posted them on the corporate intranet.

HTML Authoring and Conversion — Used programs such as Dreamweaver and FrontPage to create HTML documents to post on corporate intranet. Some documents produced using native HTML and HTML authoring tools, while others produced by converting FrameMaker and Word source files to HTML format.

PDF Conversion — Using Acrobat Distiller, converted FrameMaker source files to PDF documents for posting on corporate intranet.

SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE

Senior Technical Writer — Sercel, Inc., 03/2011 – Present. Initially, worked 8 months as contract Technical Writer; then, was hired for fulltime position as staff Technical Writer. Using FrameMaker, Word, PaintShop, AutoCAD LT, and Adobe Professional, wrote hardcopy documentation for land and marine seismic acquisition systems. Created and maintained various user manuals, functional specifications, and other documents that were managed for version control in corporate SAP system.
