Responsible for preparing case carts for next day surgeries, as well as running mandatory verification tests for ultrasonic, washer, and Autoclave’s. Ensuring that all instruments are going through the correct decontamination, assembly, inspection and packaging process according to the manufactures IFU’s. In charge of the restocking perioperative supply closet as well as Central Supply. Assists surgical technicians with obtaining needed instruments during surgeries and collect instruments from various floors for cleaning.

Responsibilities include but not limited to rounding to various floors of the hospital collecting contaminated IV pumps and sequential compression devices (SCD), cleaning and returning of said equipment throughout the course of the shift. Properly processing flexible and rigid scopes by use of OPA, V-Pro machine, or ETO. Cleaning of instruments from clinics such as dermatology, ophthalmology, and the emergency room. Inspection of instruments for functionality, applying lubrication as needed. Assembling instrument trays, ensuring correct wrapping material and pouches were used according to instruments size and weight. Ensuring the correct use of BI indicators and challenge packs. Following proper documentation procedures according to OSHA/AAMI standards. Put-away and distribution of equipment and supplies.
