Objective: To further my skills and knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine by incorporating the use of high quality medicine and surgery in a professional environment as well as become more involved in state, local, and government programs to further the development of veterinary medicine as a whole.

Work Experience:

Morningside Animal Hospital, Sioux City, IA 2015-current I work as an associate veterinarian as a solitary practitioner as the owner has two practices in town. I oversee the staff and technicians and mentor pre-vet and vet students that come through for internships. I perform all of the surgeries and medical cases in the hospital. We also offer on-call emergency services for after hours. We have ultrasound that is interpreted in house without outside consultation. I am one of two vets in the Sioux City region that sees exotic animals and pocket pets. All radiographs are also interpreted in house. I do extensive soft tissue surgeries and focus on MPL orthopedic surgeries.

Relief veterinarian for Eastern Iowa 2015-2015

I traveled to many different small animal practices to provide relief work for busy practices. Performed daily routine surgeries, medicinal cases, and team management classes. Bright Eyes and Bushy Tails Veterinary Hospital, Iowa City, IA 2014-2015 Worked as an associate veterinarian in a 24/7 small animal practice with a 24 hours emergency surgery and referral center with many overnight shifts. We performed advanced surgeries both soft tissue and orthopedics. It was a busy 8 doctor practice that would see all kinds of referral cases for surrounding veterinarians. Ultrasound, digital radiographs, and advanced CT imaging was available on site. I also had the opportunity to oversee the technicians and veterinary assistants for training and practical applications in veterinary medicine.

Cedar Veterinary Hospital, Fresno, CA 2010-2014

Worked as an associate veterinarian that dealt with many medical and surgical cases everyday. It was a very busy 3 doctor practice with extended hours and minimal on call for emergency C- sections. I had the opportunity to oversee staff and team members in a supervisory role as well as function as a highly busy veterinary practitioner in the medical and surgical aspect of the profession. I had the chance to use high tech ultrasound, digital radiography, and surgical exploration and initiation, including many orthopedic procedures.

Banfield the Pet Hospital of Bakersfield, Clovis, and North Clovis, CA 2006-2010 Worked as an associate veterinarian out of vet school with a mentor to gain more confidence in my surgical and medical skills. Took on a leadership role in the hospital when filling in for my mentor doctor, learned basic communication skills to interact knowledgeably and productively with clients and pet parents. Trained under a highly respected and productive doctor. Transferred to Banfield of North Clovis as we opened a new location where I practiced as a solitary practioner and furthered my growth as a hospital leader and mentor. Performed routine and more specialized surgical and medical procedures while able being able to mentor and train new team members with confidence as a leader and hospital director as the Chief of Staff. Then took the opportunity to transfer to Banfield of Clovis that was in need of an accomplished and strong leader after much turnover of not only doctors but also staff and to re-train and re-develop team skills that would help to ensure future productivity of the hospital.

U.S.D.A National Animal Disease Centers, Ames, IA 2005-2006 Laboratory technician: Performed advanced vaccine and challenge studies on the organism Brucella in the attempts to eradicate the disease from the United States. Performed basic laboratory testing and culturing as well as being involved in the verification of vaccine effectivness and the study of the clinical and pathological signs of the disease. Laboratory technician: Basic laboratory skills with PCR, Western Blot, culturing and defining various organisms. Involved in many vaccine and challenge studies and helped to develop a study to ensure the validity of a lepto vaccine for canines ensuring the proper organisms were being vaccined against.

Fort Dodge Animal Health 2001-2002

Laboratory technician: Involved in many challenge studies in the vaccine reference requalification department ensure the potency of current vaccines for many various species of animals through vaccination and challenge techniques with serum antibody and titer testing. Performed many different laboratory duties, culturing, using many lan testing techniques including growing various bacterial organisms to kill and formulate for usage in vaccines. AVMA, CVMA, IVMA, was a Banfield Chief of Staff. Volunteered my veterinary services at a non- profit organization called Project Survival Cat Haven where I was involved in moniotiring and overseeing the health and well being of 21 different species of large cats including but not limited to tiger, lion, cheetah, bobcat, lynx, snow leopards, melanistic leopards, Amur leopards, jagurundi, African servals, and jaguars. I also served on the board of directors for Projects Survival Cat Haven. Education:

I received an Associate of Science degree in Biotechnology and pre-vet studies as well as completed all of the necessary pre-requisites for veterinary school. Iowa State University: 2001-2002

Majored in Animal Science and took all of the courses relevant to the study of animal science including many anatomy and physiology courses.

Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine: 2002-2006 I was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine after my junior year as an undergrad. I completed all of the required courses to gain the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. References:
