Job Title: Sample Technician

Department: Production

I. Job Summary

The Sample Tech is responsible for any of the following on a rotating basis: loading and unloading molds per production orders, removing parts from the mold and weighing pans of material correctly, keeping machine in cycle, and reporting any problems to the supervisor. The Sample Tech also safely performs secondary operations to product, including trimming, labeling, flame treating, assembly work, and quality checks at a desired output rate.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

●Confirm correct material and charge weight loads into molds.

●Load and unload molds per production orders.

●Remove parts from the mold and weigh pans of material correctly.

●AKeep machine in cycle, and report any problems to the supervisor.

●Execute secondary operations per instructions on production orders including but not limited to: trimming, labeling, flame treating, assembly work and verifying everything on the order is completed to specification.

●Quality Inspection of the product for correct color, holes and any other product defects that may occur.

●Observe operation of machine to ensure standard production rates and acceptable quality.

●Effectively communicate with operators and other coworkers regarding work orders and problems which may occur with quality and mold issues.

●Accurately complete production paperwork.

●Wear all required personal protective equipment.

●Keep work area maintained per safety and 5S standards.

●Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

III. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A.Education and Experience

●High school diploma or equivalent required.

B.Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

●Effective oral and written communications skills and ability to understand production orders.

●Color vision required. Must be able to distinguish quality defects.

●Competent with hand tools including (air and electric): hammers, routers, trim tools, assorted drills and saw fixtures, and hot air machines.

●Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

●Competent math skills.

●Adherence to all company policies, safety rules, and wear required personal protective equipment.

●Must be able to work assigned schedule.

IV. Physical and Work Environment Description

Physical Effort: Amount of physical exertion expended in handling materials, tools, operating machines or equipment. Identify tools, equipment, machinery, materials handled. Indicate % of work time involved.

●Ability to tolerate extreme heat.

●Must be able to stand on concrete floor throughout shift

●Ability to lift product weighting up to 50lbs to a height of 40”

●Ability to extend arms while securing hand tools constantly throughout shift

●Ability to bend to floor level frequently throughout shift
