2012-2015. – Bldg. Services Manager – Houston Methodist Hospital System (40 – 60 Hours Weekly)
Responsibilities as Manager of Building Services included management of customer-focused professionals in hospital infection control, compliance with regulatory inspections, waste management, bio hazard waste disposal, pharmaceutical waste disposal, housekeeping procedures, safety awareness, support area cleaning and sterile area cleaning. Responsibilities also include the training and leadership of 4 manager, 4 supervisors and 85 employees.
2005-2011 – Regional Manager – GCA Services Group – Houston (40 – 60 Hours Weekly)
Responsibilities as a Regional Manager included managing multiple business units and/or accounts in the Environmental Services Industry, which include managing P&L in excess of $10million. Also includes customer satisfaction and retention, preparing and bidding of new projects and accounts. Accounts include Airport Facilities, Food Prep Services, Office Buildings, Car Rental Facilities and Refineries / Chemical Plants. With in my region, I am responsible for the safety, training and leadership of approximately 15 managers, 30+ supervisors, 2 administration personnel and over 300 employees.
2004 -2005 – Assistant Director – H.H.S. – Houston, Texas (40 – 60 Hours Weekly)
Responsibilities as Assistant Director of Environmental Services included management of customer-focused professionals in hospital infection control, compliance with regulatory inspections, housekeeping procedures, safety awareness, support area cleaning and sterile area cleaning. IEHA certified, maintained current training to stay abreast of latest changes in healthcare and consistent with best practices.
2001-2004 – Owner/Manager – 5M Construction & Management – Houston, Texas (60 – 70 Hours Weekly)
Performed as general contractor on projects with total installed cost of up to $100,000 per contract. Contracts included remediation projects, remodeling of strip centers to owner specifications, domestic dwelling remodeling and build back associated with remediation insurance claims. Responsible for overall P&L, cost estimating and control of projects, scheduling, variance & change management, invoicing and collections.
2000-2004 – Owner/Manager – Act Environmental Services – Houston, Texas (60 – 70 Hours Weekly)
As owner/manager, performed as general contractor on project with total installed cost of up to $150,000 and supervised up to 21 direct hire personnel in a small business environment, which included all P&L for the company. As general contractor, I managed mechanical, architectural and E&I subcontractors on asbestos abatement and mold remediation projects, remodeling strip centers to owner specifications, high rise buildings, with insurance claims. Responsible for overall cost estimation and control, schedule control, permitting, subcontract administration, materials procurement, equipment rentals, variance / change management, risk assessments, invoicing and all other accounting duties.
1996-2000 – Project Manager – Laughlin Development Group – Houston, Texas (40 – 60 Hours Weekly)
As General Superintendant, responsibilities include management of asbestos abatement projects with total installed cost (TIC) up to $1.5 million. Commercial contracts represented 90% of business and included ExxonMobil and Shell Oil Co. as major clients. Experienced with petroleum-chemical industry safety policies and procedures; supervised up to 40 craft personnel. Responsible for overall cost estimation and control, schedule control, variance / change management, subcontract administration, invoicing and accounts payable.
1992-1996 – PLM / PCM Lab Analyst – CAM Environmental – Pasadena, Texas (40 – 60 Hours Weekly)
Responsibilities as Lab Analyst included sample testing, recognition and analysis of bulk and air samples of asbestos, utilizing Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) and Polarized Contrast Microscopy (PCM). Supervised two lab technicians; revised company procedures to incorporate cost efficiencies; completed company sponsored training on PLM and PCM.
