Responsible for the provision of nursing services in King Faisal Military Hospital which is part of Armed Forces Hospitals, Southern Region and focuses on the provision of OB Gynae care. The facility comprises outpatient services: Ob/ Gynae Clinic ( 15 beds ) and Emergency Room ( 14 beds and 4 clinics) and an operating Room (3 OR and 4 Recovery Room beds ) There are 215 inpatient beds: Gynaecology (25beds), Labor and Delivery ( 26 beds), Antenatal and post natal beds (59), Nursery ( 24 ) ICU/ HDU (11 beds), NICU ( 70 BEDS) Ten head Nurses and approximately 320 nursing staff. The hospital is very busy, there are approximately 1,000 admissions, 650 deliveries and 4500 visit to the Emergency Room per month. Antenatal, delivery and postnatal care is provided to normal and high risk patients supported by a state of the art NICU which provides medical and surgical care for preterm and sick neonates born in Armed Forces Hospital. Referrals from other facilities in Saudi Arabia are accepted when work load and capacity permits. The hospital has achieved JCU and CBAHI accreditation since January 2017 and is currently in the process of renovation and expansion to a total capacity of 245 beds.

Responsibilities include:

Take responsibility for overall Nursing Control of hospital during the night shift inclusive of redeployment of staff.

Ensure that Infection Control Practice are fully met with standards.

Address clinical Issues using the knowledge and experience of obstetric staff on site as necessary.

Address all administrative problems on site involving the Saudi administrator on call if necessary.

Aim for effective communication with and between all members of the health care team, administrator, patients, and relatives.

Ensure all nursing practice is in line with hospital nursing policies and procedures.

Ensure that IPSG is practice by the staff.

Demonstrate knowledge of hospital quality program and execute Internal and External Audit.

Provide guidance and support to nursing staff on clinical issues.

Development of nursing strategic plan and operational plan

Development and implementation of policies, processes and procedures in line with CBAHI and Baby Friendly accreditation standards.

Provision of nursing expertise and leadership on key committees

Development and provision of new services to meet patient needs and promote patient satisfaction.

Planning and monitoring of staff and equipment needs in response to the demands of the service
