HDR, Inc

Toronto, ON

Dear HDR, Inc. Hiring Team,

I am writing to apply for the Engineering Co-op position, as advertised on the Indeed careers website. As a current student attending Queen’s University for the Chemical Engineering program, expecting to graduate in April 2022, I am confident you will be interested in my experience and accomplishments as indicated on my résumé.

Through my experience in chemical engineering, I have fostered a passion for chemistry and mathematics. From my education, laboratory, and field experiences I have acquired many skills that would strongly suit this position. These experiences include monitoring chemical processes, product quality testing and analysis, collaboration in teams, preparation of reports, and much more. I have and continue to be educated in various fields of chemistry including studies of organic mechanisms and synthesis, chemical processes in reactors, and statistical analysis of data.

With an extensive background in the customer service industry, I possess excellent interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with members of a team, supervisors and clients. I maintain exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills that help me to quickly identify areas of concern and how to approach new problems. I am adamant about developing as a professional, seeking out new learning opportunities, and continuing to reflect on my experiences to challenge myself and encourage others to perform at their best. From my experience, I have learned to function in dynamic environments and believe that working as a team fosters a safe, high quality work environment.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to further discussing the ways I could contribute to the HDR, Inc Team.

Sincerely,

Julia O’Reilly
